Panjpeer Rocks is a stunning natural viewpoint located near Kotli Sattian, about 70 km (2.5–3 hours’ drive) from Islamabad. Perched at an altitude of around 1,800 meters, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the valleys below, with layers of massive rock slabs stretching across the ridge, making it one of the most scenic and lesser-known spots in the Margalla and Murree region.
The name Panjpeer means “Five Saints,” and the site is named after a local legend associated with five holy men who once meditated here. The area is surrounded by pine forests, cool mountain breezes, and dramatic rock formations perfect for short hikes, photography, and picnics.
It’s an ideal day trip destination for nature lovers, families, and adventure seekers who want to escape the city and enjoy peaceful mountain scenery.
Meet at your door or an agreed pickup point.
Scenic drive via Lehtrar/Kotli Sattian roads; stop for short breaks & tea en route.
Park near the trailhead; vendors sometimes sell chai/snacks.
Walk the flat rock slab that forms the cliff edge, take photos, enjoy panoramic valley views, short scramble to viewpoints. This is the iconic “ledge” photo spot.
There are grassy areas and small pools — ideal for a relaxed lunch. (Bring trash bags; no formal picnic services.)
If the group wants, take a 30–60 min trail loop or go toward Narrar waterfall a few km before the final viewpoint.
